It was created by Matthew Gloag’s company after he was asked to supply wines for a royal banquet with Queen Victoria in attendance. His son, William, perfected a blend named The Grouse, renaming it The Famous Grouse in 1905. Around eighty years later, the company was awarded a Royal Warrant.
Blending premium whisky isn’t just something they do, it has been the foundation of their craft since 1800. Famous Grouse bring together the finest ingredients to create a natural spirit before the passing of time imparts the wonderful flavour from their handcrafted casks.
Add to this the fusion of skilled craftsmen and a tenacious obsession with quality and you arrive at the Famous, rich, sweet, well-rounded whisky. The blend represents great value for money, and it also works beautiful in whisky-based cocktails.
